About shore to sail
You can choose to spend an extra week either before or after your sailing holiday, exploring some of the inland highlights that Croatia, Slovenia and Italy have to offer. We have put together a one week, one-way, land based driving holiday - where you will spend each night of the week at a different location. Our guides will chauffeur you in air conditioned comfort from one destination to the next; no need to worry about planning or navigating, just sit back and relax. Our guides will recommend some of the best restaurants and watering holes along the way as well as tailor the trip to meet your specific needs.
If doing the trip prior to your week sailing, you will start in Venice, wind through the Slovenian coastline to the spectacular Istrian Peninsula of Croatia before heading inland, where you will spend two days on a guided walking tour of Croatia’s world famous Plitvice Lakes National Park. If doing it at the end of your sailing trip, it will simply be the other way round. Saying that, if you want to start or end in a particular destination not included above, we can arrange that too.
Each day consists of no more than 3 hours driving, with regular stops for meals, sightseeing and general relaxation. Accommodation in the evenings will vary depending on your needs and budget - and our team can work together with you to build a package that best suits you.
- How to get there?

Because Venice is on a lagoon, the water plays a crucial role in transportation. Whichever way you arrive, the last part of your journey will be on foot from the nearest waterbus/watertaxi jetty. If you need to carry or wheel bags along the narrow streets, bear this in mind when choosing your hotel location and route to it.
